WCAM Youth, Junior & Mini League

Junior League

The Youth, Junior and Mini League structure has been an ever evolving programme in London and the South East of England since it was launched in 2004. Within the founding year, 14 teams and 7 clubs across the U’13’s & U’15’s age groups played a minimal season between May and July.

Only 8 seasons on, the League now provides playing opportunities for close to 2000 young participants, stemming from 80 teams, 16 regional clubs with age groups ranging from U’7 to U’18 (Youth).

The League is coordinated by a core set of volunteers who make up the Youth, Junior and Mini League Management Group. Chaired by Martin Coyd (Medway Dragons), the remainder of the club representatives are made up of Rich Ingle (Guildford Giants), Graeme Spencer (London Skolars), Gary Tetlow (St. Albans) and John Stanforth (Medway Dragons) whilst Phil Jones supports from the London Broncos Rugby League performance department.

The season opens in March with the League 9's, includes the Challenge Shield and Challenge Cup, and culminates in the League Grand Final at the end of July. The junior season concludes with the coveted London Origin Series, a battle betwen clubs North and South of the Thames, after the end of the season.

Please see the Club section for more information for details of your nearest club. To find out more about the Youth, Junior and Mini programme in London and the South East contact Regional Manager, Dan Steel by email: dan.steel@rfl.uk.com
